You will notice that there is a new option when you are looking at discussion posts - one that lets you express your thanks for a particular post!
As a "thanker", if you want to let someone know that you appreciated their post, click on the word "thanks", to the right of the name of the person who made the particular post.
As a "thankee", you can see on your profile page exactly how many people have thanked you for your contributions.
