There is an amazing one-bedroom apartment on Huron available above Breakaway Travel, near the corner of Huron and Michigan in downtown Ypsilanti - directly across from City Hall. It's close to 900 square feet, complete with onsite laundry and parking - for $750.
The ceilings in the living room have to be close to 12 feet tall. Lots of light.
My landlord owns it, and has been the best landlord I have had. He is very conscious about his properties, and quick to respond. We've been with him for several years, and couldn't speak more highly of him. We currently live in another property he owns.
They are currently in the process of finishing up some updates to it [new shower, kitchen work, etc.], but if you are interested in seeing it, you should contact Jeff Kuhns at Heritage Appraisal [734.482.8200] and set up a time to look at it.
I don't expect it to last long!
This apartment is still available - and ready to move in!
If you're interested, contact Jeff Kuhns [734.482.8200]. I've seen this place myself, it's great - and Jeff is my landlord - an excellent one, at that.
Perfect for a single renter or a couple with a lot less stuff than my wife and I have! :)
My landlord actually put an ad in the paper for this yesterday. It's close to 900 square feet, with on-site laundry and parking - for a mere $750. It's located just north of Michigan and Huron, on South Huron - above Breakaway Travel. It's walking distance from all downtown Michigan Ave businesses as well as Depot Town.
I saw it yesterday myself - it's been completely redone, with a brand new bathroom and shower, to boot. Huge walk-in closet in the bedroom, as well as a wall with the typical "folding door" closets. Living room ceiling has to be 12 feet tall. Apartment also has central air.
Get in touch with him soon - before it's gone!

Not to hijack your apartment thread, but my place is going to be available Sept 1 and I'm responsible for showing it. Super awesome with 15 ft ceilings, 2 lofted areas (one with hot tub), 1 bedroom, 800 sq ft. Landlord is flexible on rent, ~$750 (or lower if you can talk him into it). Let me know if you'd like to take a look.
Both these places on the market (as well as other stuff I saw while I was looking a few months back) would indicate that it's quite the renters market at the moment. Wherever folks end up, I'd encourage a little friendly bartering on rent costs.
Katy, if I think of or find anyone that needs a place, I will certainly let you know!
What is the pet policy, etc?
I believe cats are ok, no dogs. Tenant pays water, electric, and gas, which average ~$120 a month.
my gf and i are starting to look for a new place to move into this summer. ideal location would be somewhere in the downtown / depot town area -- we're on washington between both right now and dig the location. we'd like a place with parking -- both of our cars have been vandalized this year, so off-street parking is key -- and we have to be allowed to have a cat.
i'm posting super early -- in part because i was just talking about looking for a new place, though also 'cause it has been pretty dead around here as of late.
sounds like the above apartments were both 'once in a lifetime' offers, though if anyone has any decent leads they'd be willing to share it'd be appreciated.
