An Eastern Michigan student organization, STAND (Students Tak-ing Action Now: Darfur), will be hosting a benefit concert to raise awareness and battle the genocide taking place in Darfur.
It will be held on Sunday, April 15 at Club Divine. Several bands will be playing. Additionally there will be a raffle of local business gift certificates and information.
The cost is $5 for anyone over 21 and $7 for those under. It runs from 7 p.m. to midnight and is all ages. All proceeds will be donated to the Genocide Intervention Network.
Good Luck with Stand. Rachel K. is a good friend of mine and it is an amazing cause. If you get this prior to Sunday's event--Is the Echo going to cover your event? And have you considered Channel 2 news--they seem far more interested in local--even Ypsilanti--events, than the other two major stations.
wildchild: the Dan who posted the initial comment is the same Dan who writes for the Echo and the Courier, so he's got those bases covered. And I think I saw a piece about this event in the Echo this past week, by him or somebody else.
SWEET! I am discovering you are a wise sage Murph! :)
