I noticed today that Bombadill's is now taking credit cards. I've been wondering when that would happen since about my second time there, and the answer is apparently "now".
Yes, it's microscopically small news, I know. But I'm happy.
Thanks, this is something good to know. I often have exactly zero dollars in my wallet, but a handy dandy credit card that I would use if Bombadill's accepted them.
I will defintely spread the word because Bombadill's rocks.
My wife and I stopped in and noticed this as well-- Peter told us that he decided "To bite the bullet" and offer this payment option to his customers-- I wondered if that during that overly bitter stretch of winter cold we had in February had something to do with it, Peter might have felt bad forcing a cash-short customer up the street in the cold to an ATM to pay off a "latte" bill... Hee hee. Seriously though, I'm glad to have that option-- I know that I've stopped several times at my ATM, before heading to Bombadill's, Now I can go straight there-- Cash poor, or not!
Oh damn. This could be bad news for my wallet. Many a morning has gone by where I skipped Bombadill's since I had no cash.

I'm with you. No longer can plastic-hostile policies on Peter's part substitute for actual willpower on my part. I just take heart in the fact that he's got a $6 minimum, which is more than I'm going to bop in for daily on the way to work.
The real killing blow to my finances, of course, would be if he decided to run tabs for regulars...
