I'm not sure where I read this, but I know I read an article that said the Mongolian BBQ on Washington and Michigan Ave is going to open in May. And there is going to be a wine bar in the basement. I think this is great. What do others think? And if you can post the article, please do.

The story was in the Eastern Echo - http://www.easternecho.com/cgi-bin/story.cgi?11721

It appears Dan Duchene is establishing a monopoly on local reporting. Maybe the Ann Arbor News will hire him to replace Christine Uthoff, as well?

(Of course, see the Echo article in September claiming the mongolian barbecue would open in October: http://www.easternecho.com/cgi-bin/story.cgi?5030 )

Thanks Murph, after I wrote that I remembered it was in the Echo.

Yeah, also just heard about Christine leaving the News. Apparently, the person who edits the Livingston Community News is going to take over. I heard a couple of reporters none too happy about this. Not only was Christine Uthoff the editor of the Ypsi Community News, she was also a member of the Ypsi Rotary and an all around community friendly person. Can't vouch for the person taking her place.

I was talking to Paul at the Rocket and it does sound like the May date might still be a bit premature, but maybe June?

Awesome, if true, but I'll believe it when I see it. They have resumed work on the place in the past month after many months of no activity in there. We'll see. I like the idea of a wine bar in Ypsi, hope it does well.

I'll give the benefit of doubt-- This is a smaller version (in scale, scope and time) of the problems the interested parties in Detroit were/are having with the development of the old Book-Cadillac Hotel project..... Years and years of delay, while that grand old building slowly rotting away-- But now it appears to be saved, and the project is barrelling ahead-- Finally. As for our little corner of the universe-- All we can do is wait, I guess-- Cheer from the sidewalks, so to speak.

    Thanks Murph,
I like the idea of a monopoly with my name involved. It feeds my giant ego.
