Yesterday there was an article in the Ann Arbor News about the new ownership at the Elbow Room.
As someone that's experienced the "old" and "new" atmospheres of this local watering hole and entertainment establishment—I have to give them kudos for the new direction they're heading in, and at the same time thank the old team for all the work they have done in the past.
Giving the bands 100% of the donations at the door is a great way to get people in to experience new music, new bands, and new talent.
The more better-er beer selection makes the beer geek in me much happier as well.
Check out the article, if you have a moment!
Sometimes I don't do well with change, but I'm trying to be open. Although, I must say, I had THE BEST PBR at the Elbow Room a few weeks back. Laugh all you want, but that was one delicious bottle of beer. I have to agree with Mark, though - I don't think the "old" ER was all that scary, or dangerous, or whatever pejorative term anyone wants to use to describe it.
Bottom line for me is probably this: If they have music I want to hear, I'll go. Otherwise, you can probably find me at the Tap Room.
