"Next Wednesday's meeting [February 7th] with the Lawnet commander about the shooting at Huron & Arcade has been moved from the Haab Building to the Senior Center, 1015 N. Congress. Some of the other neighborhoods heard we were having a meeting and wanted in, so we figured we'd need a larger venue."
According to the posts, the previously-located meeting starts at 7:00PM. Is it starting at the same time in the new location?
Yes. 7pm Wednesday, Senior Center.
I just wanted to bump this thread up to the top, as a reminder that the meeting's tonight.
I'm still not sure if I'll be in attendance, but I thought I could put in a general request for anyone that does go, to come back here and share your thoughts on the meeting. We'll all probably get a synopsis from the newspapers, and the usual local online sources, but this seems like an issue that I'd frankly like to hear new voices commenting on- and what better place than here to do so?
Rats! I'm doing what goes strongly against the DINK (dual income, no kids) mantra.... I'm babysitting for my sister, so I can't attend this! I've read today's AA news, but I'm still left with questions.... So as Brett says, if you were there, please post something, as I'd like to hear what went on-- And what your thoughts were.
As I thought might happen, I didn't make it to the meeting, but reports suggest it was a very emotional one.
Some people are talking about it <a href="http://markmaynard.com/index.php/2007/02/07/officers_cleared_in_ware_shooting_questi">here</a> and <a href="http://markmaynard.com/index.php/2007/02/01/the_david_ware_shooting">here</a> on markmaynard.com, and <a href="http://www.ypsinews.com/"> Steve Pierce's site </a> might eventually have video of the meeting.
Finally, here's <a href="http://www.mlive.com/news/aanews/index.ssf?/base/news-21/117094932716260.xml&coll=2">a link</a> to the AA News article.
I'd still like to hear what the readers of downtownypsi.org have to say on the matter, though....

And, on an unrelated technical note to Brian Cors- I suppose this system doesn't allow html, eh? I'll use the little button dealies next time.
I also ran into a space limit while posting (as I was going to copy the full text of the AA News article); don't know if that's something you can adjust or not.
It doesnt look like it accepts HTML if you type it in - but if you use the buttons available above the text input area, it should do you well.
