The Click on Detroit site is having elections for the "4 best" basically the top four businesses in different categories win for the metro detroit area. I've been impressed at how many Ypsi businesses have made it on the list including:
liquid swordz-(tattoo)
the bomber-(breakfast)
sidetrack-(burger)
tower inn, aubree's, pub 13 -(pizza)
cafe luwak-(sandwich)
bicycles in town-(bike shop)
miles of golf- (golf shop)
tap room-(neighborhood bar)
aubrees/sticks-(pool hall)
bowerbird mongo- (antiques)
gordon's five and dime- (childrens gifts)
the rocket, quinns essentials - (gift shop)
look in the attic-(housewares)
the ugly mug- (coffee shop)
queen of hearts-(cakes)
I encourage people to go to http://wdiv.cityvoter.com/ and vote for your personal favorites. They can use all the help they can get and it'd be great to see ypsi win a few of these. You can vote once in each category (there are lots of them) Also, if you see a business you'd like to see on the list you can nominate it. The contest runs until Aug 31.
Cool! Thanks for posting this - I've seen this, but it didn't occur to me that any Ypsi businesses would be on the list. Tap Room certainly gets my vote for neighborhood bar!
I thought I'd mention, some of these are later additions so they may have a harder time catching up. However some have been doing quite well. The ugly mug had a large lead a week or two ago and it is now only a 1% lead. Similarly, Bicycles in town hung onto a position until lots more bike shops came on. Thanks for looking!
